A footstep is the sound or mark that is made by someone walking each time their foot touches the ground.
As early as I developed a taste for cinema, one question always tackled my mind after watching any good movie and that was whether I wish I had made the same movie myself had I been provided with the opportunity. I never found a concrete answer for my question but with ‘Before Sunset (Richard Linklater - 2004)’ I finally got closest to what could be an answer. Indeed, long before I watch Before Sunset, I had thought of the plot of a film in which two people stroll and just talk and they never want to stop and they cut each other’s words as what we might to do in a promising date, as when we enjoy our conversation, as when we experience the sense of being close to another person. Before Sunset with the beautiful acting of its two main characters, with the right pool of topics for a conversation and with the common history that these two characters share successfully manages to convey the feelings of such situations. It is fascinating to see how the clouds of doubts, fear and failure of the ordinary life are momentarily vanished for this couple and they become engaged in an enticing game which carry them to a state of lightness and gaiety. We don’t know what will happen to them next but aren’t these feelings the ones that we want the most in our lives?
